The Dugway Storage Tunnel is being constructed by Salini Impregilo SA Healy Joint Venture for the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. The tunnel will collect and transport wastewater and rainwater in order to reduce the level of environmental pollution in Lake Erie. read more

National Veterans Memorial and Museum, Dist 3

For more years than most remember, Local 18 held its Semi-Annual State Membership meetings at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. That building was demolished in 2015 to make way for the National Veterans Memorial and Museum. read more

Pleasant St. Lift Station Project, District 1


This combined sewer overflow project began in October 2015 and completion is scheduled for spring or early summer of 2017. The heart of the project is located at Jaycee Park on Pleasant Street in Norwalk.

The original pump station was built in the 1970s and was updated in 1999. However, it still wasn’t big enough to handle the flow during peak times. When it was overwhelmed, it would overflow into Norwalk Creek. read more

West Shoreway Project  – District 1


Part of the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway west of the Main Avenue Bridge is being converted from a freeway to a surface street. When completed, it will connect Cleveland’s west side neighborhoods with the lakefront through multiple connections between West Blvd. and the Main Avenue Bridge.

The Great Lakes Construction Co., Inc. is the general contractor for this 2.5 year, $41.2M project which has given Local 18 members steady work.

Projection completion is scheduled for December 2017 with landscaping continuing into the spring of 2018.

Innerbelt Bridge – District 1


The George V. Voinovich Bridge, also known as the I-90 Innerbelt Bridge, is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and is the third generation Cuyahoga River crossing at this location. TGR Corporation, created by the Trumbull Corporation, The Great Lakes Construction Company and The Ruhlin Company, is currently building the eastbound span.
