Fort Steuben Bridge Demolition

For almost 84 years, the Fort Steuben Bridge spanned the Ohio River linking Steubenville, Ohio and Weirton, West Virginia. In 2009, due to a weakening of its structure, the bridge was closed. At 715 a.m. on February 21, 2012, 153 pounds of explosives were used to destroy the suspension bridge in a controlled demolition project. View the demo work at various stages.
